Toyota Safety Connect is a subscription-based service available in select Toyota models. It offers a range of safety and security features, including emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, automatic collision notifications, and a stolen vehicle locator.
You can access Emergency Assistance by pressing the SOS button inside your Toyota vehicle’s cabin. This connects you to the Toyota Emergency Response Center.
Pressing the SOS button mutes the audio system, locks out multimedia functionality, displays an emergency banner on the multimedia screen, and blinks an LED near the SOS button. You will then be connected to the Toyota Emergency Response Center.
Suppose you don’t need medical or emergency services after pressing the SOS button. In that case, you can choose from roadside assistance, enrollment in additional services, or simply end the call.
In the event of a collision that triggers airbag deployment or a significant rear-end impact, the system automatically connects you to a live agent. The agent receives your vehicle’s location and model information to dispatch emergency services.
If your vehicle registered with Safety Connect is stolen, the Stolen Vehicle Locator helps track it down. You need to report the theft to the police, obtain a case number, and then contact the Toyota Contact Center for assistance.
The stolen vehicle’s tracking is monitored for an initial seven days, which can be extended for an additional seven days if needed.
If the system disconnects after a collision, it will automatically retry the call every 20 seconds for a period of 24 hours until a connection is made.
Toyota Safety Connect comes with up to a 10-year trial for owners of select Toyota vehicles.
Note: Always refer to the vehicle’s Owner’s Manual for more detailed information about your specific vehicle. Safe driving practices should always be followed. For more details, contact your local Toyota Dealer or visit Toyota.com.
