To get started with Dynamic Navigation, simply press the Map button on your multimedia system, or you can even pin it to your home screen for quick access. Once you’re on the map screen, you’ll notice a menu on the left side. You can access this menu by pressing “Menu” and then selecting “Destination.”

Toyota’s Destination menu offers a wide range of options to help you find and navigate to your desired location. For vehicles equipped with Dynamic Navigation, I try to share a few steps with my customers upon delivery if they have the time. Below is a list of those categories.
- General Search by Keyword: Search for a destination by entering keywords.
- Contact Destination Assist: Connect with a live agent for assistance.
- Stored Favorite Destinations: Access your saved favorite destinations.
- View Recent Destinations: See a list of your recent destinations.
- Emergency Destinations: Quickly find essential locations like police stations or hospitals.
- Enter a Destination by Address or Point of Interest (POI): Manually enter an address or search for a POI.
- Choose a Destination from Your Contacts List: Select a destination from your contact list.
How To Enter An Address
If you prefer to enter an address manually, follow these steps:
- Within the Destination menu, select “Address.”
- Verify the correct State or Province, or change it if needed.
- Enter the house number and street name.
- Hit “Search,” and the system will confirm the destination.
- Save the destination to your Favorites if it’s a frequent choice.
- Select “Go” to start your journey.
How To Use Voice Recognition
You can also use the voice recognition system for address entry. Just press the talk switch on the steering wheel and speak your destination, and the system will guide you from there.
*Pro-Tip: I recommend that my customers always go through the Voice Training Recognition program first. Hence, the AI learns how you naturally speak for the system to be most effective. The system will have you read a few phrases aloud on the screen to learn how you naturally speak.
Utilizing Point of Interest (POI) Search
Looking for businesses or locations without a specific address? No problem:
- Open the Destination menu and scroll down to “Point of Interest.”
- Choose your search method, like searching by name.
- Enter the relevant information and select “Search.”
- Pick your destination from the search results, confirm, and select “Go.”
How to Save Your Home Address
To save your home address for easy access:
- Press “Menu” and then “Setup.”
- Scroll down to the Navigation section and choose “Home.”
- You can either enter the information manually or select “Current Location” if you’re already at home.
- Confirm the address and add a custom name if desired.
- Save your home address.
