“Next up is a model that made its U. S. debut in 1983. Since then, this famous Toyota nameplate went through eight design generations and captured the hearts of millions of drivers. Thanks to its reputation for legendary quality, durability, and reliability and, lately, for its sporty good looks. Of course, I’m talking about the Toyota Camry. Tonight, we build on that reputation with the ninth generation of this icon designed and engineered to celebrate the sedan.”

Dave Christ Shares Details During 2025 Toyota Camry Reveal

Dave continues with the following:

“For almost 22 straight years, the Camry has been the best-selling passenger car in the U. S., with nearly 300,000 sold last year. The reason for that success is simple. We’ve continuously built on the core elements that made Camry great, like uncompromising quality, a superior ride, an elegant design.

With this latest generation of Camry, we’re continuing to build on that blueprint, giving customers everything they’ve come to love about Camry, starting with four grades.

The well-equipped LE, the sporty SE, the refined XLE, and the boldly styled XSE. All in a choice of front or all-wheel-drive. This new Camry will come exclusively equipped with Toyota’s 5th generation hybrid powertrain. A 2.5 4-cylinder engine delivering up to 232 horsepower and outstanding fuel economy. By the way, that’s a 30-horsepower increase over the prior generation all-wheel-drive model.

This new Camry is also an American story. It was developed by teams from Toyota Research and Development and Calty Design Studios in Michigan and California and will ultimately be assembled at Toyota’s largest manufacturing plant in the world, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky.

It holds true to our commitment to assemble vehicles where we sell them. Supporting our local suppliers and communities with around 49,000 manufacturing, engineering, and design jobs across America. Because of all the work that took place in the U. S., we have two special guests joining us tonight.

First, we have the Toyota Camry Chief Engineer, Mark DeYoung. Mark and his team led the development teams in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and he’ll be available for questions later. We’re also joined by the president of Toyota’s Calty Design Studio, Kevin Hunter. Kevin, can you come on up and tell us the highlights of the stunning new design? “

Kevin Hunter Unveils The 2025 Toyota Camry

“As we carefully considered the direction to take the next generation Camry, our thoughts were on the car enthusiasts who still enjoy the thrill of driving and the handling characteristics that a low sedan can deliver.

We saw this as an important role in Toyota’s lineup, especially in a landscape that’s been dominated by SUVs. So, we wanted to bolster Camry’s role as a fun-to-drive model.

Our goal was to simply celebrate the exciting attributes of a low-slung sedan while elevating Camry’s sporting nature to the next level.

We accomplished this by rebalancing the overall proportions to look lower, faster, and more aggressive than ever before while being true to Camry’s role as an enjoyable everyday sedan. Now the cabin is nested into the body for an ultra low impression, while the profile has been updated to express a faster, longer silhouette that looks more akin to a sports coupe than a traditional sedan.

Now, the edgy precision design front builds on the Toyota brand hammerhead identity by featuring a slim signature DRL and compact headlight unit that looks aggressive with its low wide proportions and the rear design complements the dynamic slingshot body motion highlighted by slim tech taillights and tapered body movement to emphasize a strong athletic stance.

For the XSE performance model, we took a new approach to defining the boldest Camry by using a monochromatic theme upfront that looks dramatically unified while expressing a sophisticated attitude.

The interior design continues the theme with a driver-centric experience through application of color flow and shape structure that seamlessly defines the driver’s personal zone. The overall execution is clean, crisp, and modern, allowing easy interface with the large 12.3-inch touchscreen display.

The innovative center console design has been reimagined to meet diverse needs with an open area incorporating cupholders and room for personal electronics. And there’s also wireless phone charging and ample easy-access power ports for plugging in.

Material harmony is an integral part of the interior appeal. Fierce and serene was the key design term used to create unique atmospheres that convey sport and luxury. The premium soft materials that originate on the seats are carried over to the door and stretch across the instrument panel, surrounding the passengers in dramatic sophistication.

Now, the overall effect is an exciting, redefined Camry that builds on its best attributes while enhancing a fun and exciting driving experience.”

Dave Christ Reveal 2025 Toyota Camry Release Date

Dave Christ thanks Kevin Hunter and his team for doing a fantastic job designing a stunning, forward-facing, all-new Toyota Camry.

“As Kevin mentioned, this new Camry is designed to celebrate the low-slung sedan. We have engineered it to bring those attributes to life by delivering higher torque at lower RPMs for satisfying acceleration with a balance of handling and ride comfort. Thanks to the new steering, new suspension, and new braking systems. Altogether, we’ve delivered a Camry that drives as great as it looks.

The modern style, comfort, and convenience that people love about their Camry also keeps getting better. With nine exterior color choices and four sporty two-tone options, like this Heavy Metal with Midnight Black Metallic roof option, you see here, and beautiful interior colors like the leather trim Cockpit Red seats on the XSE.

We’ve updated its technology with a larger digital gauge cluster and our latest multimedia system that adds Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Camry updates to the latest TSS 3.0 system and adds standard Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. It also gets connected features like available Traffic Jam Assist and Digital Key.

This new Camry celebrates the style and dynamic driving characteristics that only a sedan can offer. It’s assembled right here in America with all the quality and style customers have come to expect. We are confident they will love the new Camry, and the best news of all is that it will be here before you know it.

It’s expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships in the Spring of 2024. So, thank you all for joining us tonight. We’re thrilled to introduce this new generation of Camry as we drive for our 23rd straight year atop the segment.

Camry’s success combined with the first-ever Toyota Crown Signia. We’ll soon have 19 electrified models across our lineup, giving customers the widest selection of electrified powertrains of any automaker in the industry.”
